This will probably be a brief blog, but such a sweet moment with my youngest granddaughter, Grace, I just had to share. Since Grace is only two years old this story will have to be retold in order for her to retain the memory.
Grace and I were “playing” this week at my house. She was feeding, diapering and loving her baby dolls, in particular a little fair skinned red headed baby that once lived at her Grandma JoAnn’s. She was sitting on the bed and I was watching her from my assigned position, Grace always has a specific place for me to be. She just slightly lifted her shirt and very carefully snuggled the baby skin to skin, she did this with such tenderness, such love. She then sat quietly with a sweet contented look, her face seemed to glow with great accomplishment. I was slow to comprehend her task until she flipped the baby to her other side and repeated the same actions. Grace looked at me and said “I peedin Gabe” (her f’s are p’s right now).
Gabe, really Gabriel, is her seven month old adorable baby brother. Gabe is lucky enough to have a momma who believes breast feeding is important and even with a full time career she makes the sacrifices necessary to continue nursing him.
I think someday Grace will be a wonderful mom, she’s already in training.
Thank you for that story Judy. Daddy and Mommy are so thankful that these two came along and have blessed us so much.
